Job description
The Senior Certifying Engineer β AMC role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating scheduled aircraft base maintenance activities within an aircraft maintenance center, ensuring all work is carried out safely, correctly, and in full compliance with regulatory and company standards. The role exercises certification authority to enable timely and compliant aircraft release to service. Responsibilities include carrying out and certifying scheduled base maintenance tasks such as C-checks, modifications, and repairs as a C certifier and CAR 66 B1 and/or B2 licensed engineer, and signing off the work package Certificate of Release to Service (CRS) under GCAA Part-145 or equivalent regulations. The position operates in a digital MRO environment, driving industry best practices through digital planning tools, monitoring on-time performance (OTP), supervising and mentoring B1 and B2 engineers and mechanics, and ensuring maintenance is performed using correct tools, equipment, and Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) procedures. The role includes leading aircraft base maintenance checks, managing documentation and digital records including electronic work cards, technical logbooks, defect rectifications, and modification entries, participating in audits, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions, and upholding the Safety Management System (SMS) while contributing to safety, quality, performance improvement, and cross-departmental coordination within the maintenance organization.

Key responsibilities
- Carry out and certify scheduled base maintenance activities including C-checks, aircraft modifications, and repairs in accordance with approved documentation and procedures
- Sign off Certificate of Release to Service (CRS) as a C-Certifier under GCAA Part-145 or equivalent regulatory frameworks
- Supervise, guide, and mentor B1 and B2 engineers and mechanics to ensure maintenance is performed using correct tools, equipment, and AMM procedures
- Lead and manage aircraft base maintenance checks using digital planning tools to meet ground time and on-time performance commitments
- Allocate daily work based on manpower availability and aircraft ground time requirements in a digital MRO environment
- Ensure all maintenance documentation and digital records including electronic work cards, technical logbooks, defect rectifications, and modification entries are accurately completed and stored
- Monitor maintenance performance and address challenges to maintain turnaround targets and continuous improvement
- Report safety, quality, or performance issues and take a leading role in improvements aligned with safety performance indicators
- Participate in audits, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions for quality findings
- Promote and uphold the Safety Management System (SMS) and regulatory compliance across the aircraft maintenance center
- Coordinate across shifts, departments, and support functions to optimize efficiency and reduce operational interruptions
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelorβs degree in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering
- Possess 8β10 years of relevant aircraft maintenance experience with required qualifications
- Hold a current CAR 66 B1 or B2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License or FAA/ICAO equivalent
- Demonstrate certification ratings on Boeing 787, Boeing 737NG, and/or Boeing 737 MAX aircraft
- Demonstrate experience in a Base Maintenance environment with company C certification approval
- Demonstrate fluency in English
- Demonstrate experience using AMOS maintenance management systems
