Job description
This role involves leading the development of AI-driven products in the drilling domain, focusing on upstream oil and gas operations at AIQ, an Abu Dhabi-based industrial AI technology company. The Product Manager translates real operational challenges into scalable digital solutions, owns the product roadmap, prioritizes features by operational and commercial value, and collaborates closely with customers, engineers, and data scientists to deliver commercially viable AI products that enhance drilling performance and efficiency. Responsibilities include aligning product development with company and customer objectives, engaging with customers to define solution requirements, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of market trends and AI applications, ensuring commercial viability, conducting market research, developing operational plans and budgets, managing policies, processes, and procedures in line with best practices and ISO standards, and overseeing internal and external audits to ensure timely actions and closure of recommendations.

- Align product development with company and customer objectives by sketching and refining the product roadmap
- Engage with customers to translate needs into solution concepts and requirements
- Prioritize features according to operational value, urgency, and commercial impact
- Collaborate with development teams to validate designs and solutions
- Develop new business opportunities by leveraging contacts and improving project efficiency
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends in drilling, upstream operations, and AI technologies
- Ensure commercial viability of all developed solutions
- Conduct market research and convert findings into actionable recommendations
- Develop department operational plans and budget requirements for people, operations, and technology
- Participate in regular review of team activities to ensure timely completion
- Develop and recommend department organization structure to meet business objectives
- Manage the development of policies, processes, procedures, and systems aligned with best practices
- Propose improvements in internal processes to enhance efficiency and align with ISO standards
- Manage internal and external audits to ensure timely actions and closure of audit recommendations
Experience & skills
- Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent
- 5–10 years’ experience in product management
- Deep and current knowledge of real-time data processing software in Oil and Gas sector, especially upstream and drilling
- Proven experience in real-time upstream and drilling operations
- Experience and mastery of DrillOps, Logix, and real-time monitoring and engineering solutions
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with customers and developers
- Good understanding of AI applications: possibilities, limitations, and complexity
- Good understanding of Agile development processes
