Job description
The Murex Datamart Developer & Production Support Specialist role is based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, within the banking and capital markets technology domain. The position focuses on end-to-end Datamart development, configuration, optimization, and production support within the Murex platform. The role involves analyzing business requirements, designing and building complex Datamart reports and extractions, configuring Datamart objects such as dynamic tables, feeders, batches, and extractions, and integrating Murex Datamart with external systems. The role requires strong expertise in Murex Datamart, mxml, Market Data, MLC, MRB, and static data modules, along with advanced SQL, scripting using Unix shell or Python, and deep knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, data modeling, and APIs. The position also includes BAU, L2/L3 production support, EOD and intraday batch support, troubleshooting Datamart failures, managing interfaces with upstream and downstream systems such as Swift and accounting systems, and ensuring data accuracy through validation and reconciliation. Performance tuning, automation using Control-M or Autosys, SLA adherence, documentation, and participation in Murex implementation, upgrade, and maintenance projects are core elements of this role.

Key responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and deliver end-to-end Murex Datamart reports and data extractions including complex objects and business logic
- Configure Datamart objects such as dynamic tables, feeders, batches, and extractions to support business and regulatory reporting
- Extract, transform, validate, and reconcile data from Murex into reporting data warehouses ensuring data accuracy and consistency
- Analyze and optimize Datamart configurations and batch performance to meet defined service-level agreements
- Automate Datamart processing and report generation using Unix shell scripting and scheduling tools such as Control-M or Autosys
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and end-users to gather requirements, deliver Datamart solutions, and manage expectations
- Provide technical troubleshooting and resolve Datamart batch failures, reporting issues, and data-related incidents
- Deliver L2 and L3 BAU production support for Murex Datamart in a live environment
- Handle EOD, intraday, and night batch processes including interfaces with upstream and downstream systems such as Swift and accounting systems
- Monitor and resolve incidents, service requests, and change requests related to Datamart workflows and reporting processes
- Create, maintain, and update technical documentation and reporting specifications
- Contribute to Murex implementation, upgrade, and maintenance projects from development through post-go-live support
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate a minimum of 10–12 years of overall professional experience
- Possess 7–12 years of hands-on experience with Murex mxml and mandatory Murex production support exposure
- Hold in-depth expertise in Murex Datamart, Market Data, MLC, MRB, and static data modules
- Exhibit strong proficiency in SQL including query development, stored procedures, and database optimization
- Have experience with Unix shell or Python scripting for automation and workflow management
- Demonstrate knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, data modeling techniques, and APIs
- Show strong understanding of financial instruments including derivatives, swaps, futures, and options
- Be familiar with Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems
- Possess exposure to DevOps tools and practices such as Jira and Confluence where applicable
