Job description
The Direct Tax Manager â EMEA at Cisco is a key individual contributor role based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, responsible for managing Ciscoâs direct tax affairs in the region. This includes optimizing and maintaining the companyâs direct tax position in Saudi Arabia, ensuring compliance, and supporting broader EMEA responsibilities. The role involves managing the tax compliance cycle, planning projects, audits, and cross-functional business support for areas such as supply chain and treasury. The manager will act as Ciscoâs liaison with Saudi Arabian tax authorities, manage uncertain tax positions, advise on M&A and restructuring, and monitor local and international tax regulations, including OECD/G20 developments. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of six yearsâ experience in direct and international taxation, fluency in English and Arabic, strong negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities
- Manage Ciscoâs direct tax affairs in Saudi Arabia ensuring compliance and tax efficiency
- Perform, monitor, and improve end-to-end direct tax support processes
- Oversee tax compliance cycle and direct tax planning projects
- Handle transfer pricing and direct tax audits
- Liaise with Saudi Arabian tax authorities to manage relationships and resolve issues
- Provide tax support for cross-functional business areas including Deals, Treasury, and Supply Chain
- Manage and control uncertain direct tax positions
- Advise on direct tax matters related to mergers, acquisitions, and business restructuring
- Review key legislative and regulatory developments including OECD/G20 tax updates
- Coordinate EMEA theatre tax support for designated functional areas such as M&A
Experience & skills
- Fluency in English and Arabic
- University degree in Tax, Law, Finance, or Accounting
- Minimum of 6 years in international or direct tax roles
- Strong analytical and tax research skills
- Excellent strategic negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage projects and work independently
- Experience with tax audits, compliance, and planning
- Broad business acumen with cross-functional partnership skills
- Experience in M&A tax support is a plus
