The Engineer/Access Network Maintenance role based in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning, reliability, and performance of access network infrastructure within telecommunications operations. The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance, performance optimization, and governance of maintenance activities while working closely with regional teams, field teams, and vendors to deliver stable and high-quality network services. The position oversees preventive and corrective maintenance activities to meet service stability and KPI targets and ensures uninterrupted service for high-priority sites to maintain customer satisfaction. The engineer is responsible for monitoring network performance, minimizing quality-related issues, and providing monthly performance reports and dashboards that highlight maintenance achievements, operational challenges, and performance metrics. The role involves engaging with regional teams to share best practices, improve maintenance performance, and standardize processes and checklists across regions to ensure consistent governance. Responsibilities include resolving critical network issues, ensuring timely escalation of incidents for effective problem-solving, and collaborating with stores and procurement teams to ensure hardware and material availability for maintenance operations. The role also supports BOQ preparation and verification to ensure accurate project execution and efficient deployment of maintenance activities. The engineer provides technical guidance to field teams to improve fault resolution, service quality, and operational efficiency. The position requires strong knowledge of network infrastructure, maintenance best practices, and industry standards, along with the ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction in a network operations environment.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities for access network infrastructure to ensure service stability, KPI achievement, and uninterrupted network performance
- Monitor network performance and quality metrics, identify issues, and provide monthly reports and dashboards detailing maintenance performance, achievements, and operational challenges
- Engage with regional teams to share best practices, standardize maintenance processes, and improve overall maintenance performance across multiple operational areas
- Resolve critical network issues and ensure timely escalation of incidents to support effective problem-solving and service restoration
- Manage high-priority network sites to ensure uninterrupted service delivery and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
- Monitor and minimize quality-related issues by implementing corrective actions and maintaining regular performance tracking and reporting
- Collaborate with procurement and stores teams to ensure availability of hardware, spare parts, and materials required for maintenance tasks
- Standardize maintenance processes, procedures, and checklists across regions to ensure consistent governance and operational efficiency
- Support preparation and verification of Bills of Quantities (BOQ) to ensure accurate planning and execution of network maintenance projects
- Provide technical guidance and support to field teams to improve fault resolution, operational efficiency, and service quality
Experience & skills
- Possess Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of network infrastructure and access network maintenance best practices
- Demonstrate experience in preventive and corrective maintenance within telecommunications or network operations environments
- Demonstrate ability to analyze network performance, generate reports, and maintain KPI-driven maintenance operations
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills with focus on service quality and customer satisfaction
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and manage multiple operational tasks effectively in a network operations environment
- Demonstrate proficiency in maintenance management tools and software used for network operations and performance tracking
- Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills for effective coordination with regional teams, vendors, and field engineers
- Demonstrate willingness to travel for site visits and regional coordination activities
- Demonstrate proactive and detail-oriented working approach with familiarity in industry standards and regulations (preferred)
