Job description
The Data Product Owner is responsible for driving the health, development, and strategic direction of the KSA Data Engineering product within The Cigna Group. Based in Riyadh, this role focuses on enabling high-quality, consistent, and accessible data across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia business through scalable data pipelines and modern data engineering practices. The Product Owner collaborates closely with customers, data & analytics teams, operations, technology, and regulatory stakeholders to deliver business value using agile methodologies. The role requires synthesizing insights from multiple domains, translating strategic objectives into actionable user stories, and leading a cross-functional delivery team to ensure optimal outcomes aligned with business, technical, and regulatory priorities.

Key responsibilities
- Own and deliver the product roadmap for KSA Data Engineering in alignment with strategic business objectives
- Lead agile delivery using established frameworks, ensuring high-quality outputs and timely value realization
- Break down high-level product objectives into detailed Features and User Stories with clear Acceptance Criteria
- Prioritize and sequence backlog items to maximize business value across iterations and increments
- Collaborate with Product Manager to define objectives, conduct product discovery, and refine roadmap direction
- Drive the identification and delivery of critical data elements through scalable and reliable data pipelines
- Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, scrum masters, and technology experts to deliver features
- Evaluate data and technology solution options, assessing trade-offs across business value, delivery speed, technical complexity, operational impact, and regulatory compliance
- Manage cross-team dependencies and communicate them effectively within the release train
- Provide contextual clarity to team members and stakeholders regarding priorities and strategic decisions
- Ensure business readiness prior to release, partnering with operational and change management teams
- Apply economic and scientific thinking to optimize delivery planning and outcome measurement
- Balance customer needs, regulatory requirements, and technical feasibility in solution design
- Support portfolio-level alignment by coordinating with Release Train Engineers and other product owners
Experience & skills
- Bachelorβs Degree (required)
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in cross-functional environments involving multiple stakeholder perspectives
- Proven experience in product ownership or product management roles
- Hands-on experience with agile delivery methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, or similar frameworks)
- Strong English language proficiency (written and verbal)
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to work across multiple time zones with global stakeholders
- Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills
- Ability to synthesize complex information from business, technical, and regulatory domains
- Confidence to make prioritization decisions while remaining open to feedback and iteration
