Job description
Core42 seeks a Specialist in Tooling Operations to design, implement, integrate, and maintain OpenText NOM solutions and customized monitoring/tooling within AI-powered cloud and digital infrastructure environments serving regulated sectors. The role gathers client requirements, develops creative solutions, integrates them into existing architectures, manages scope-of-work deliverables, and delivers high-quality custom monitoring and testing/implementation solutions. It covers administration, installation/upgrade, and configuration of NNMi and NA; expert NA integration with NNMi; LDAP integration with NOM and OO; configuration and customization of network reports; automating report extraction from NNMi and NA; installing NA device driver packs; patching/upgrading NA; working with Optic Data Lake and related integrations; troubleshooting application issues; leveraging NPS and NA for automation; performing health checks and providing tool reports; applying monitoring techniques including SNMP, SNMP Traps, and SSH; scripting to push configuration changes or upgrades/patch-fixes via NA (Perl, Python, Unix/Linux Shell, PowerShell); monitoring system performance and troubleshooting NOM modules and integrated tools; developing and executing scripts for automation/integration with other IT management tools; implementing security controls; documenting configurations, processes, procedures, and NOM implementation; producing operating procedures and documentation/training plans; providing user and stakeholder training and support; staying current with OpenText updates/upgrades/best practices; handling BAU activities in OpenText NOM; and contributing to continuous improvement and technology refresh templates. Preferred capabilities include configuring/customizing OpenText OO, developing workflows and custom activities, implementing/administrating OO (including HA), creating third-party integrations using OO, experience with the OpenText ITOM suite (SiteScope, OMI, Optic, uCMDB), knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and their monitoring tools, and familiarity with ITIL processes and frameworks. The role emphasizes collaboration, mentoring, communication, adherence to organizational goals/standards, and delivery against deadlines and client expectations.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain OpenText NOM solutions aligned to client requirements and Core42 standards
- Gather and analyze client requirements, translate into technical designs, and deliver tailored monitoring and tooling solutions
- Integrate monitoring/tooling solutions into existing architectures and systems, ensuring compatibility and performance
- Administrate, install/upgrade, and configure NNMi and NA, including expert integration between NA and NNMi
- Configure, customize, and automate NNMi/NA reporting; extract and schedule reports per client requirements
- Install NA device driver packs and perform NA patching/upgrades and health checks with documented outputs
- Develop and execute automation scripts (Perl, Python, Shell, PowerShell) for configuration changes and patch/upgrade deployment via NA
- Monitor system performance of NOM modules and integrated tools; troubleshoot incidents and resolve problems quickly
- Implement security controls and ensure compliance within tooling and monitoring platforms
- Develop testing and implementation plans for monitoring solutions; create accurate operating procedures
- Produce and maintain software/system documentation and training plans; provide training and support to end-users/stakeholders
- Document configurations, processes, and procedures for NOM implementations and BAU operations
- Stay current with OpenText updates, upgrades, and best practices; execute technology refresh and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally (delivery peers and stakeholders), manage scope-of-work deliverables, and meet/exceed client expectations
- Provide one-on-one coaching and mentorship; contribute to a collaborative team environment
Experience & skills
- Experience in administration, installation/upgrade, and configuration of NNMi and NA with expert NA–NNMi integration
- Working knowledge of LDAP integration with NOM and OO
- Ability to configure/customize network reports and automate report extraction from NNMi and NA
- Experience installing NA device driver packs and executing NA patching/upgrades
- Working knowledge of Optic Data Lake and related integrations
- Hands-on troubleshooting of application-related issues across NOM/NNMi/NA
- Knowledge of NPS and NA for automation use cases and performing tool health checks with reporting
- Familiarity with monitoring techniques: SNMP, SNMP Traps, SSH
- Scripting proficiency in one or more: Perl, Python, Unix/Linux Shell, PowerShell
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure (networks, servers, applications)
- uCMDB and OBM certifications are added advantages
- Preferred: Configure/Customize OpenText OO; develop workflows/custom activities; implement/administer OO (including HA) and third-party integrations
- Preferred: Experience with OpenText ITOM suite (SiteScope, OMI, Optic, uCMDB)
- Preferred: Knowledge of AWS/Azure and their monitoring tools; familiarity with ITIL processes/frameworks
