Job description
The Project Director â Data Centre at Currie & Brown in Abu Dhabi is responsible for directing and managing the delivery of large and complex Data Centre projects. This senior leadership role involves managing project teams, establishing project delivery plans with appropriate control and governance mechanisms, coordinating multiple consultants and contractors, and independently managing budgets, schedules, and financial targets. The Project Director leverages industry best practices, provides technical expertise, analyzes complex data, liaises with clients and stakeholders, ensures compliance with contracts, and delivers strategic advice to senior management. Additionally, the role includes talent development, succession planning, translating business objectives into operational financial targets, and ensuring successful project delivery aligned with Currie & Brownâs vision.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Direct and manage delivery of large-scale and complex Data Centre projects
- Define project objectives, establish delivery plans, and implement control and governance mechanisms
- Lead large project teams, set objectives, manage performance, and ensure necessary skills for project delivery
- Manage multiple consultants and contractors effectively
- Produce plans and schedules, track and manage budgets, and highlight variances to control project delivery targets
- Apply industry best practices to implement and manage project processes and policies
- Provide recommendations to improve project processes and systems
- Present project risks and mitigation strategies to senior management
- Liaise and collaborate with clients and key stakeholders to ensure awareness of project progress and expectations
- Analyze complex information from various data sources to identify implications and advise on mitigations
- Act as a technical expert, providing strategic advice to senior managers for successful project delivery
- Ensure compliance with contracts regarding project delivery parameters and scope
- Develop and manage team leaders and support talent development and succession planning
- Translate business objectives into operational financial targets and produce business cases, plans, and schedules
- Deliver aspects of Currie & Brownâs vision through assigned projects
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs degree or equivalent
- Project Management Professional certification or accreditation
- Proven experience leading large-scale Data Centre projects
- Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, and lead large teams
- Strong pre-contract and post-contract project experience
- Excellent contract administration experience
- Expertise in project management and strategic advisory
- Experience managing stakeholders at executive levels
