Job description

Protection Testing Engineer role within Siemens Smart Infrastructure in Saudi Arabia (Jeddah), focused on electrical power systems testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of medium voltage (MV), low voltage (LV), and high voltage (HV) electrical networks and protection systems. The position involves working with advanced protection relays including Siemens SIPROTEC 5 and SIPROTEC 4, Reyrolle, ABB, GE, and SEL systems. The engineer is responsible for testing and maintaining MV and LV switchgear, performing CT (current transformer), VT (voltage transformer), CR (circuit resistance), and circuit breaker timing tests, as well as executing advanced protection function testing such as busbar protection, distance protection, and differential protection for lines and transformers. The role includes troubleshooting HV/MV/LV electrical systems, analyzing electrical faults, and identifying root causes to ensure system reliability, safety, and operational efficiency. The engineer contributes to commissioning and maintenance activities in Smart Infrastructure projects that integrate digital power distribution and intelligent energy systems. The position requires strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, coordination skills, and technical expertise in protection systems and electrical engineering principles, supporting Siemens’ mission of delivering smart, safe, secure, and energy-efficient infrastructure solutions.
