Job description
A large, long-term UAE infrastructure programme with a diverse portfolio of wastewater projects needs one person setting the technical standard, and Stantec is looking for that Technical Director in Abu Dhabi. Every design stage falls under your oversight, from feasibility and concept through preliminary and detailed design. Consistency, quality and compliance across multidisciplinary engineering outputs depend on the technical standards and design governance processes you put in place. Optioneering, value engineering and risk-informed design decisions shape solutions that are efficient and buildable. Digital delivery is part of the brief too, bringing BIM, hydraulic modelling and data-led design into how the programme works. Regulatory requirements and regional authority approvals need careful handling, as do stakeholder expectations. Candidates need 20+ years designing and delivering major infrastructure, GCC experience, Chartered Engineer status and a strong background in wastewater or utilities design. A master's degree is preferred.
