The Commercial Analyst β Commercial Banking role at Citi in Dubai, United Arab Emirates supports Senior Relationship Managers in servicing the banking and financing needs of international mid-market commercial clients within Citi Commercial Bank. The role focuses on supporting client relationship management activities, deepening existing client relationships, and assisting in acquiring and onboarding new commercial banking clients across various industries with an international footprint. The position involves acting as a key support contact for client requests, internal escalations, and issue resolution while maintaining a client-first service approach across all banking interactions. The analyst supports relationship managers in managing assigned client portfolios, preparing client calls, and assisting with due diligence activities. The role includes monitoring and supporting product implementation processes, client onboarding workflows, and CRM-based sales and relationship tracking systems. The analyst is responsible for assisting in financial and credit analysis, including credit application write-ups, financial spreading, deal structuring, returns calculation, and documentation review and preparation while ensuring compliance with internal policies and banking regulations. The role requires understanding of commercial banking solutions including transactional banking, FX, trade finance, treasury, working capital, and lending products. The position involves supporting pitch book preparation, client presentations, and new client acquisition efforts while collaborating with internal stakeholders across commercial banking functions. The role also requires adherence to risk management practices, ensuring proper application of compliance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and ethical business conduct while escalating control issues appropriately. The Commercial Analyst works closely with senior stakeholders to deliver high-quality relationship management support and contribute to business growth and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities
- Support Senior Relationship Managers in managing portfolios of mid-market commercial banking clients while ensuring high-quality client service and relationship support
- Assist in client onboarding, product implementation, and CRM system updates to ensure smooth execution of client lifecycle processes
- Prepare and support client meetings, including call preparation, due diligence, pitch books, and presentation materials for new and existing clients
- Conduct financial spreading, credit analysis, deal structuring, and returns calculation to support credit applications and banking solutions
- Assist in writing credit applications and reviewing financial documentation in compliance with internal policies and banking regulations
- Support relationship managers in identifying client risks, opportunities, and delivering tailored commercial banking solutions
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across transactional banking, FX, trade finance, treasury, working capital, and lending functions
- Ensure adherence to risk management frameworks, regulatory compliance, and internal policies while escalating control issues as required
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate 2β5 years of experience in banking, preferably within commercial banking, corporate banking, or client-facing financial services roles
- Hold a Bachelorβs or University degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
- Demonstrate experience in client relationship management and ability to support senior relationship managers in banking environments
- Possess analytical and credit skills including financial spreading, credit application preparation, and deal structuring
- Demonstrate knowledge of commercial banking products including transactional banking, FX, trade finance, treasury, working capital, and lending solutions
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
- Demonstrate strong communication, presentation, and client service skills with focus on relationship building
- Show ability to assess risk, ensure compliance with banking policies, and support regulatory and governance requirements in financial services
