Job description
The Regional Food Commercial Leader at IKEA RSO Jebel Ali, Dubai, UAE, is responsible for supporting the Regional Food Commercial Manager in driving the comprehensive IKEA Food strategy across the region. The role ensures adherence to quality, food safety, and environmental standards while optimizing sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This position collaborates closely with store Food teams and the IKEA Food Service Office team to enhance the food experience, attract visitors, and maximize commercial performance. The role requires commercial competence to address performance gaps and includes leading initiatives that improve food innovation, operational efficiency, and staff productivity. The leader utilizes tools such as Navision, Profit & Loss reports, KPI reporting, Pulse CX, and Functional Commercial Review to monitor performance, implement food commercial frameworks, and embed KPIs. The role also involves fostering sustainability in food sourcing, implementing lean approaches to cost management, and leveraging food initiatives to support IKEA’s retail positioning and market growth. The position entails empowering Restaurant Managers and co-workers, delivering training, promoting continuous improvement, and integrating customer feedback into operational and commercial decision-making.

- Integrate food into the activity commercial calendar by collaborating with stakeholders in and outside the Commercial team
- Plan, conduct, and follow-up on commercial performance reviews, acting to ensure performance excellence throughout the year
- Implement common food commercial frameworks and KPIs, adapting to local legislation and laws
- Lead initiatives to improve food experience and drive food innovation
- Ensure IKEA Food department achieves sales growth, excellent operational performance, and high customer satisfaction
- Utilize reporting tools such as Navision and Functional Commercial Review to develop the IKEA Food business
- Lead and develop mechanisms to ensure guests are always in focus and served with empathy and care
- Regularly assess Restaurants and Food areas from customers' perspectives and act on feedback
- Use Profit & Loss, KPI-report, and Pulse CX to challenge stores and monitor performance
- Implement IKEA Food concepts to increase home furnishings sales and reinforce IKEA's market position
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure integration and alignment across teams
- Promote an open and sharing climate and work on sustainability within food sourcing and production
- Monitor and challenge costs regionally, promoting lean, simple, and cost-conscious approaches
- Consolidate and update knowledge of services/products in stores to assist guests
- Empower IKEA Restaurant Managers and co-workers to meet guest needs and improve operational standards
- Conduct training sessions for Restaurant Managers and staff
- Promote productivity, continuous improvement, and staff engagement
Experience & skills
- High School/Trade School Graduate, preferably in hotel, business, or culinary studies
- Minimum 3-5 years of food service manager experience in a high-volume business
- Strong interest and knowledge of the culinary or food service industry
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume retail environments
- Proficiency in multitasking, MS Office, and data analysis
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build working relationships and speak and understand English fluently
- Proven leadership capabilities, demonstrating personal leadership and team collaboration
- Strong customer focus and effective multitasking capabilities
