Job description
Grant Thornton UAE is seeking an Assistant Manager for its Financial Reporting Advisory Services (FRAS) team in Dubai. This role is designed for professionals with a passion for complex financial reporting and client-focused advisory work. You will manage small to medium-sized projects, maintain client relationships, deliver tailored accounting solutions, and provide technical mentorship to junior staff. The FRAS team supports a range of industry sectors, focusing on transparency, compliance, and excellence in financial reporting within Grant Thorntonās Assurance service line.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Conduct research on IFRS and other accounting standards
- Review financial processes and assist with accounting framework transitions
- Compare accounting practices across companies to identify improvement areas
- Develop and deliver tailored training sessions for clients
- Ensure quality improvement in financial reporting
- Monitor and adjust team project progress as needed
- Consult with clients on complex accounting issues
- Coach and develop team members to strengthen technical competencies
- Lead projects efficiently and profitably
- Understand client industries and recognize business drivers and technical developments
- Leverage technology to enhance knowledge sharing and service delivery
- Maintain strong interpersonal and communication skills to support client relationships
Experience & skills
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Accounting Advisory at a top international consulting firm
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAPs
- Professional certification: ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent
- Proven experience in addressing complex IFRS accounting matters
- Excellent time management and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills
- Ability to lead diverse teams and manage client relationships
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong verbal and written English skills; Arabic is an advantage
- Willingness to work additional hours and travel to client sites as needed
