Job description
The Business Analyst - Aviation at Cognizant will serve as a critical link between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring aviation-related business requirements are accurately captured, documented, and translated into functional specifications. The role involves driving end-to-end project management from initiation through closure, conducting feasibility studies, and delivering process optimization across aviation operations and partner systems. The analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and the DTI (Digital Technology Integration) team to support project delivery, testing, and production incident management. With a strong foundation in the aviation industry, the candidate will contribute to enhancing operational efficiency by resolving partner issues, streamlining business processes, and ensuring system integration success. The role requires advanced coordination skills, analytical capabilities, and familiarity with aviation operational systems, ensuring that business goals align with technology deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Gather, document, and validate aviation business requirements from stakeholders
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications for technical teams
- Collaborate with IT and DTI teams to develop and deliver technology solutions meeting business needs
- Plan, execute, and monitor projects across initiation, development, and closure phases
- Conduct process mapping, analysis, and feasibility studies, presenting actionable recommendations
- Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies to maintain delivery timelines
- Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT), coordinating with testing and operations teams for validation
- Work with the OPS team to establish, improve, and document aviation business processes
- Provide analytical and project support for resolving production issues and partner workflows
- Manage stakeholder relationships, addressing partner and vendor queries and escalations
- Monitor project deliverables and ensure incident tracking and resolution with the DTI team
Experience & skills
- Experience in the aviation industry is mandatory
- Proficiency in business requirement analysis, documentation, and translation into functional specifications
- Strong knowledge of process mapping, feasibility analysis, and workflow optimization
- Ability to manage projects and coordinate across technical and business functions
- Experience conducting and managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Proven capability in handling partner and stakeholder relationships in a complex operational environment
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with external vendors and internal cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with aviation systems and operations processes is essential
- Experience in managing production incidents and ensuring timely resolution preferred
