Job description
Utilities, transmission and distribution operators, power generators, retailers and industrial customers bring their hardest grid problems to Hitachi Energy's Power Consulting team, and this senior consultant in Abu Dhabi leads the studies that answer them. Projects cover power system studies and strategic advisory work, often assessing how renewable integration, energy storage, hydrogen and e-mobility will affect electrical networks. Modelling and simulation run on tools such as PSS®E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, PSCAD, EMTP and RTDS, with Python, Fortran, DSL or NPL used for model development. Technical, regulatory, economic and sustainability questions all shape the recommendations. Each project is yours to plan, schedule and keep on budget, with risk and customer satisfaction managed throughout. Business development matters as well, through proposals, sales support and long-term customer relationships. New methodologies and tools come out of the team, and mentoring colleagues is expected. Candidates need a Master's in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering and more than 8 years in power system studies or consulting, with experience in areas such as transmission, offshore wind, BESS, FACTS, HVDC or grid code compliance. The position is hybrid.
