Job description
The Real Estate Contracts & Compliance Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the legal integrity and compliance of all real estate transactions and lease agreements within the organization. This position requires a seasoned legal professional who can navigate complex property laws and contractual frameworks across multiple emirates in the UAE. The specialist is expected to take ownership of legal documentation, risk analysis, and contract compliance related to both commercial and facilities-related real estate holdings. You will act as a central point of contact between legal, facilities, property management, and external legal advisors to ensure that lease agreements are not only legally sound but also strategically beneficial to the company. By mitigating legal risks and maintaining regulatory alignment, you will contribute directly to the legal safety, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of the companyâs real estate assets.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Reviewing all types of real estate and facilities lease agreements to ensure compliance with UAE law and company policies
- Providing legal insights into contract terms, obligations, renewals, and termination clauses
- Drafting and editing legal documents such as lease agreements, addenda, renewals, and termination notices
- Monitoring real estate compliance frameworks across all emirates, including RERA and DLD guidelines
- Coordinating legal due diligence for property transactions including acquisition, sale, and leasing
- Advising internal departments (property, operations, legal) on regulatory changes and legal exposure
- Supporting legal documentation for dispute resolution including notices, claim responses, and arbitration files
- Liaising with government entities such as RERA, DLD, and Municipality offices for property registration and compliance matters
- Managing internal legal tracking systems to maintain accurate, real-time status of all ongoing legal reviews
- Translating key documents between Arabic and English as needed for legal submissions and communication
- Supporting litigation proceedings by preparing documentation and coordinating with internal and external legal teams
- Reviewing and approving engagement letters and power of attorney documents for real estate functions
- Supporting compliance audits by collecting, organizing, and presenting all necessary documentation and legal reports
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university is mandatory
- Legal certification or bar qualification from UAE authorities is highly preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a legal role specifically focused on real estate and leasing
- Prior experience working with or for a law firm or corporate legal department, preferably in the real estate sector
- Deep understanding of UAE tenancy laws, DLD regulations, RERA guidelines, and contract registration systems
- Proven ability to independently draft and revise complex lease and legal agreements
- Track record in handling renewals, terminations, dispute resolutions, and arbitration support
- Ability to provide legal advice on commercial property, facilities management, and portfolio transactions
- Familiarity with legal due diligence processes including zoning laws, title verification, and compliance reviews
- Excellent legal drafting, document control, and archiving practices for audit and litigation purposes
- Ability to translate legal documents between Arabic and English accurately is highly advantageous
- Strong attention to detail with a meticulous approach to document accuracy and risk analysis
- Familiarity with real estate lifecycle, from land acquisition to tenancy dispute resolution
