Job description
Late or poor-quality plant stock cannot be fixed quickly, which makes procurement central to plant quality, production timelines and margins at Botanica, the landscape nursery arm of Red Sea Global. This Senior Manager leads procurement and supplier management across every business unit, from local and imported plants and trees to fertilizers, substrates, irrigation materials, equipment, fleet, spares and services. The annual procurement plan is built from approved budgets, with category strategies and framework agreements for recurring items. Every purchase runs the full cycle of requisition, RFQ or tender, evaluation, negotiation and purchase order, under the Delegation of Authority. Imported plants from countries such as Italy, Spain, Australia, Thailand and South Africa bring long lead times and biosecurity risk, so suppliers are pre-qualified, stock is inspected and tagged on site with Production, and customs clearance runs through the bonded facility. Savings, price benchmarks and category spend are tracked closely, and ethics, conflict-of-interest and anti-bribery controls under ISO 37301 keep records audit-ready. A small procurement team reports to you, and stores rely on agreed reorder levels to avoid stock-outs of critical inputs. Expect to bring at least 12 years in procurement, including 5 managing a team, ideally in agricultural, horticultural, landscape or construction procurement with international imports, plus fluent Arabic and English.
