Job description
Private equity, private credit, venture and sovereign wealth investors are the users of (in)Alpha, Inception42's investment AI platform, and this Abu Dhabi-based Senior Manager brings their way of working into the product. Screening, diligence workstreams, data-room handling, investment committee materials and portfolio monitoring all need defining against real investment practice. Model IC memos, diligence question sets, scoring frameworks and peer-benchmarking conventions become the reference artefacts that guide development. AI-generated memos, comparables and extracted metrics come to you for review, so misread covenants, flawed valuation logic and false peer matches get caught and resolved. Citation and source traceability standards let analysts defend platform outputs in front of an investment or credit committee. Clients also see you as a peer through product demonstrations, discovery sessions, design-partner relationships and deployment advice. This is a permanent individual-contributor role with no direct reports at hire, working closely with product, engineering, AI and growth teams. Around 6+ years in private equity, private credit, growth equity or institutional investment is expected, with direct ownership of transactions from sourcing through diligence and IC review, including memo authorship and valuation and LBO analysis. A Bachelor's degree in finance, economics or engineering is required, and a CFA or CAIA charter or hands-on use of AI-assisted research tools would help.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Define how (in)Alpha modules behave against real investment practice across screening, diligence, data rooms, IC materials and portfolio monitoring
- Author and maintain reference artefacts such as model IC memos, diligence question sets, decision criteria, scoring frameworks and peer-benchmarking conventions
- Resolve practitioner-level questions on scope, behaviour and edge cases during backlog refinement with product and engineering
- Pressure-test proposed features against fund governance, regulated processes and judgement-led decisions
- Review AI-generated memos, summaries, comparables, metrics and monitoring insights for analytical soundness and correct use of evidence
- Translate investment judgement into evaluation criteria the AI team can test consistently across releases
- Identify plausible but incorrect outputs, such as misread covenants or false peer matches, and drive each to resolution
- Establish citation, traceability and source transparency standards for platform-generated figures
- Lead the investment-domain contribution to demonstrations, discovery sessions and executive conversations with funds and sovereign investors
- Run design-partner relationships end to end and convert workflow evidence into prioritised product input
- Advise client teams on configuring templates, taxonomies, decision criteria and committee processes during deployment
- Contribute domain substance to proposals, RFP responses and thought-leadership material
- Maintain a practitioner's view of competitors and GCC market requirements, including regional deal structures and reporting conventions
- Feed structured client evidence into roadmap and pricing discussions
Experience & skills
- Bring typically 6+ years in private equity, private credit, growth equity or an institutional or sovereign investment environment with direct transaction ownership
- Demonstrate experience preparing and defending investment committee materials, including memos, valuation and LBO analysis
- Know core investment-process artefacts such as data rooms, diligence trackers, peer benchmarking and portfolio reporting packs
- Apply strong investment judgement and analytical scepticism to spot credible-sounding but incorrect outputs
- Explain investment reasoning precisely to engineers, AI practitioners, designers, commercial teams and client executives
- Influence decisions through evidence and persuasion without formal authority
- Operate comfortably in an early-stage product environment where priorities shift
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering or a comparable discipline, or equivalent experience
- Offer a CFA or CAIA charter, GP or sovereign fund experience, or both private equity and private credit exposure (desirable)
- Show hands-on use or evaluation of AI-assisted research, diligence or document-analysis tools (desirable)
