Job description
The PMC Project Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing quality management systems across a major oil and gas project while representing the client and ensuring compliance throughout the project lifecycle. The role involves managing the application of quality principles, systems, and measures across business units, business groups, or large and complex projects, ensuring compliance with the Wood Business Management System and project quality standards. The position requires conducting quality audits, managing non-conformities, implementing risk-based assurance programs, and ensuring contractors and subcontractors adhere to project specifications, codes, and industry best practices. The PMC Project Quality Manager supports continuous improvement initiatives by using performance data to drive fact-based decision-making, improve delivery efficiency, reduce rework, and enhance customer satisfaction. The role includes engaging with senior leadership, presenting quality performance data, supporting preventive interventions, and managing quality teams. The position requires comprehensive understanding of ISO 9001 standards, formal root cause analysis techniques, and continuous improvement methodologies. The PMC Project Quality Manager acts as a liaison between client representatives, engineering teams, and construction contractors to ensure project safety, compliance, and quality excellence across all phases of project execution while supporting large-scale oil and gas project delivery.

Key responsibilities
- Manage the application of quality principles, systems, and measures across large and complex oil and gas projects ensuring alignment with quality policy, standards, and agreed project objectives
- Oversee and implement Quality Management Systems ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, project specifications, industry standards, and Wood Business Management System requirements
- Conduct quality audits, manage non-conformities, and implement corrective and preventive actions while ensuring contractors and subcontractors comply with project quality requirements
- Develop and implement structured risk-based assurance programs to monitor compliance, reduce risks, and improve project delivery efficiency
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using performance data analysis to enable fact-based decision-making and preventive interventions
- Engage with senior leadership by presenting quality performance data, trends, and recommendations to support project delivery and quality excellence
- Act as key liaison between client, engineering teams, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure compliance, quality alignment, and effective communication
- Manage quality teams and support predictable delivery, customer satisfaction, and risk mitigation across large-scale project execution
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Project Management, or related discipline
- Possess Lead Auditor qualification from a recognized industry body
- Have formal training in recognized root cause analysis techniques and continuous improvement methodologies
- Demonstrate 20+ years of relevant experience preferably within oil and gas or associated industry
- Possess comprehensive understanding of ISO 9001 standards and Quality Management Systems
- Demonstrate experience managing relationships with customers, stakeholders, and multifunctional teams
- Possess proficiency in continuous improvement tools and techniques and performance data analysis
- Demonstrate experience managing change and working within highly dynamic and complex project environments
