Job description
The AI Conversation Journey Designer at Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) is a specialist role within the Group Business Services (GBS) division, responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining high-quality conversational experiences across the bankās digital and voice assistant platforms. This position plays a key role in ADCBās digital evolution strategy, shaping how AI-powered interfaces communicate with customers and ensuring every interaction reflects the bankās tone, persona, and customer-centric ethos. The role involves designing dialogue flows, intents, and responses for chatbots, virtual agents, and digital assistants while applying principles of linguistics, user experience (UX), and cognitive psychology to craft natural, human-like conversations. The designer will develop and maintain prompt libraries, fallback strategies, and conversation scripts that ensure consistency and accuracy across AI channels. The position requires advanced proficiency in crafting, testing, and refining prompts for large language models (LLMs) and generative AI systems to improve contextual relevance and accuracy. The designer will collaborate closely with AI engineers and product managers to integrate prompt chaining, manage conversational context, and establish evaluation frameworks for AI performance, sentiment, and success metrics. Responsibilities also include conducting user research, developing personas, analyzing conversation logs, and implementing feedback-driven improvements. Working within agile squads, the designer contributes to sprint planning, manages a backlog of conversational features, and iterates based on analytics and user feedback. The role requires deep familiarity with tools like Voiceflow, Botmock, Dialogflow, Azure Bot Framework, and AI Foundry, as well as expertise in analytics, conversational UX metrics, and agile product delivery. Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Design dialogue flows, intents, and responses for chatbots, digital assistants, and voice interfaces
- Develop and maintain conversation scripts, prompt libraries, and fallback strategies to ensure coherence and continuity
- Apply linguistics, UX, and cognitive psychology principles to enhance conversational quality and engagement
- Craft and refine prompts for Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI systems to improve response accuracy
- Collaborate with AI engineers to implement prompt chaining, context management, and workflow orchestration
- Define and execute evaluation frameworks for AI models, LLMs, and agentic systems
- Conduct user research to identify conversational needs, behaviors, and pain points
- Develop detailed user personas and use-case scenarios to guide design decisions
- Analyze conversation logs and performance metrics to identify areas of improvement
- Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Maintain and prioritize a backlog of conversational features and enhancements
- Define success metrics such as task completion rate, user sentiment, and accuracy for conversational experiences
- Monitor and iterate conversational designs based on analytics and user feedback
- Collaborate with product managers, AI engineers, and UX teams to align designs with broader business objectives
- Stay informed on emerging conversational AI technologies, frameworks, and best practices
Experience & skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in UX design, linguistics, or conversational AI roles with a focus on chatbot or voice assistant design
- Bachelorās degree or certification in User Experience (UX), AI Interaction Design, or related discipline preferred
- Professional certifications in UX Design, Conversation Design, or NLP tools are desirable
- Demonstrated expertise in conversational UX, dialogue flow design, and prompt engineering for AI-driven interfaces
- Strong knowledge of linguistics, semantics, and cognitive psychology in conversational systems
- Proficiency with tools such as Voiceflow, Botmock, Dialogflow, Azure Bot Framework, and AI Foundry
- Experience building and maintaining analytics and evaluation frameworks for conversational AI performance
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with ability to gather requirements and communicate design rationale
- Excellent storytelling and written communication skills to craft engaging and consistent AI personas
- Familiarity with agile methodologies, sprint-based workflows, and backlog management processes
