Job description
The Master Technician – Mechanical is responsible for performing complex mechanical repairs on customer vehicles in accordance with manufacturer standards and dealership procedures. This includes diagnosing issues, managing job card documentation, handling warranty parts and related tagging, raising parts requisitions, and using oil and consumables effectively. The role enforces the 'Fix it Right First Time' (F1) principle, ensures repair work is completed within the allocated time, and involves close collaboration with Team Leaders and Foremen. The technician is expected to follow safety protocols, maintain workplace cleanliness, use appropriate PPE, and safely drive vehicles within the premises. They are also expected to support overtime work during peak periods, and only use materials assigned to each job card. The position requires adherence to workshop SOPs, accurate recordkeeping, and maintenance of tools and issued safety gear.

- Complete repair work within allocated time limits
- Report additional repair needs to Team Leader, Foreman, or Controller
- Inform supervisors proactively about any job delays
- Work overtime as directed during high workload periods
- Record oil and consumables usage accurately on job cards
- Handle and drive customer vehicles safely within workshop premises
- Raise parts requisitions as required for repair jobs
- Attach completed warranty tags to parts and store them in the designated warranty area
- Obtain necessary approvals for additional or warranty work
- Use protective covers while working on customer vehicles
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace at all times
- Comply with workshop safety protocols and SOPs, including wearing PPE
- Keep personal protective gear such as overalls and safety shoes clean and in good condition
- Ensure issued materials are only used for the assigned vehicle on the job card
Experience & skills
- Hold a 2-year ITI in Automobile or a 3-year Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent qualification
- Have at least 5 years of experience in an authorized dealership workshop
- Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of experience specifically as a technician
- Exhibit physical fitness to perform mechanical repair tasks
- Possess attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a team
- Have basic proficiency in English
