Job description
The Associate, Financial Reporting (Fixed Term Contract) supports Mubadala’s Financial Governance & Reporting mandate by executing core group-level statutory and regulatory reporting processes to ensure clarity, confidence, and compliance. The role oversees implementation of the group-wide statutory reporting framework in alignment with IFRS, manages consolidation and preparation of group-level statutory reports, and collaborates with Platform Finance teams to ensure accurate, timely data submissions from wholly owned investees. Responsibilities include developing regulatory returns, validating data integrity, executing governance controls, identifying enhancements to the finance governance manual, and contributing to policy, systems, and process improvements aligned with international leading practices. The role engages external auditors and regulatory bodies, resolves reporting issues with investee companies, provides statutory reporting guidance, and manages consultants and auditors. It also contributes to group-wide finance transformation initiatives, functional reporting submissions, and capability-building of junior colleagues. The position requires experience in financial and statutory reporting, strong audit and consulting background ideally from Big 4 firms, and full Chartered Accountant qualification.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee execution and implementation of group-wide statutory reporting processes in accordance with IFRS and established frameworks
- Prepare consolidated statutory and financial reports by collaborating with Platform Finance teams
- Develop regulatory returns and validate data inputs to ensure quality and integrity of disclosures
- Identify opportunities to enhance the finance governance manual to drive best practice consistency
- Implement relevant functional policies, processes, and procedures to ensure controlled and consistent work execution
- Support communication and engagement with external auditors and regulatory bodies for compliant disclosures
- Collaborate with Platform Finance to identify, investigate, and resolve reporting issues from investee companies
- Advise Platform Finance and investees on statutory reporting requirements and escalate complex issues
- Manage consultants and auditors supporting statutory reporting activities
- Support group-wide finance initiatives aimed at improving financial capabilities and reporting efficiency
- Contribute to identifying and implementing continuous improvements across functional systems, processes, and practices
- Prepare timely and accurate functional management reports according to Mubadala standards
- Pursue professional development and build knowledge across Mubadala’s financial operations
- Support development of junior colleagues through coaching, feedback, and shadowing opportunities
- Perform other related assignments as directed
Experience & skills
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant financial and statutory reporting experience in large organizations
- Strong consulting and audit background, ideally from a Big 4 or equivalent firm
- Fully qualified Chartered Accountant
- Experience contributing to group-level statutory reporting, consolidation, and IFRS compliance
- Ability to support governance, regulatory reporting, and process improvement initiatives
- Capability to engage with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and internal finance stakeholders
- Ability to provide guidance on statutory reporting issues and support investee reporting accuracy
