Job description
Masdar, a global leader in clean energy and green hydrogen, is seeking a Senior Manager, Financial Planning to lead the preparation and management of group financial forecasts, management reports, business plans, budgets, and performance scorecards. The role supports internal and external stakeholders including executives, board members, shareholders, and functional heads. The successful candidate will deliver timely, accurate, and insightful reporting and analysis that enables strategic financial decision-making across Masdarâs multi-national operations. This position plays a critical role in optimizing the companyâs financial performance and ensuring alignment with its ambitious sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and consolidation of group-wide management reporting, ensuring all reports are accurate, timely, and aligned with internal and external stakeholder expectations including functional heads, executive management, the Board of Directors, and shareholders.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve comprehensive financial forecasting models and tools to support long-term business planning and scenario analysis across Masdarâs multi-country operations.
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process across all business units and departments, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, while identifying cost optimization opportunities and operational efficiencies.
- Create and maintain balanced scorecards and performance tracking systems that reflect organizational KPIs and financial metrics, enabling data-driven performance management.
- Deliver insightful and actionable variance analysis on financial results vs. budget/forecast, identifying key business drivers and working closely with business unit heads to understand and address variances.
- Ensure compliance with financial governance frameworks and reporting requirements by coordinating with auditors, internal controls, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives and investment proposals, including return on investment (ROI), payback period, and financial impact assessment.
- Prepare high-quality presentations and reports for executive leadership, supporting quarterly business reviews, investor updates, and board meetings.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO and executive leadership, providing recommendations to enhance financial decision-making and business performance.
- Drive financial planning digitalization and automation initiatives, improving accuracy, efficiency, and consistency of financial planning processes and tools.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field; a Masterâs degree is an added advantage.
- Professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA) is strongly preferred and adds significant value to the role.
- Minimum of 8 yearsâ progressive experience in financial planning, budgeting, and reporting, preferably in a multinational or large corporate environment.
- At least 3â4 years of proven experience at the group level in a financial planning and analysis (FP&A) role involving consolidation of diverse business units.
- Advanced analytical skills with expertise in interpreting large data sets and distilling key insights for executive decision-making.
- Exceptional financial modeling skills, including use of Excel and financial software for scenario planning, cash flow projections, and capital allocation.
- Experience in designing and managing enterprise-level budgeting processes, including zero-based and rolling forecasts.
- Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and their application to corporate reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into business language for non-financial stakeholders.
- Proficient in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms, and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with experience in cross-functional collaboration and team development.
