Job description
Microsoft Azure and AKS clusters form the core of the platforms this Senior Platform Engineer designs, builds and runs for a financial services organisation in Abu Dhabi. Infrastructure and deployments are automated with Terraform, Helm and Azure DevOps, under governance that covers reusable modules, state management, approval gates and environment promotion. Kubernetes networking, ingress, storage, secrets, TLS certificates and RBAC all need careful control. Observability runs on Prometheus, Grafana and Loki, tied to SLIs, SLOs, capacity planning and cost optimisation. Disaster Recovery is owned end to end, from backup and restore standards to RTO/RPO validation and evidence from recovery exercises. Production incidents get troubleshot quickly, followed by root cause analysis and corrective action. Security baselines, vulnerability remediation, access reviews and Azure Policy keep the platform compliance-ready. HLDs, LLDs, SOPs, runbooks and architecture diagrams document how everything works, and engineers look to you for mentoring. Banking or regulated-industry experience and a background leading platform modernisation are preferred.
