Job description
The Account Executive (ME) at BAT Dubai is responsible for managing and developing assigned Global Travel Retail (GTR) accounts. The role involves executing account plans, driving volume, market share, and profitability, and ensuring alignment with BAT’s GTR marketing strategies. The executive will work closely with cross-functional teams, including activation, marketing, finance, supply chain, and agencies, to implement trade programs and optimize account performance. The position requires strong commercial insight, relationship management, and analytical skills to deliver results in a complex and highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities
- Support Account Manager in managing assigned accounts end-to-end, delivering volume, market share, and profitability
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key account operational staff and stakeholders
- Lead execution of account plans and operational initiatives to ensure OTIF delivery
- Support launch and implementation of new categories, products, and campaigns
- Optimize trade spend efficiency across retail, distribution, and agency channels
- Conduct analysis and reporting of account and market performance, identifying opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure strategic alignment and execution
- Mentor and provide development support to indirect reports, fostering growth within the organization
- Ensure adherence to GTR governance, compliance, and policy obligations
- Drive two-way communication and buy-in of account strategies internally
- Travel regionally to manage customer relationships and support business objectives
Experience & skills
- 2–4 years of experience in trade marketing, key account management, sales, or business development within a multinational FMCG environment
- Experience in Global Travel Retail (GTR) is advantageous
- Strong understanding of cross-functional collaboration and agency management
- Commercial acumen with knowledge of P&L, margins, pricing strategy, and customer investments
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, with experience in forecasting and performance tracking
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the nicotine sector including tax, excise, and customs implications
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to operate independently, take ownership, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Experience influencing without direct authority
- Comfortable with frequent regional travel
- Fluency in English; additional languages are advantageous
