Job description
The Business Development Manager â Mortgages at Standard Chartered Bank in Dubai is responsible for achieving the business objectives of the countryâs Wealth and Retail Banking (WRB) division through customer-focused, need-based selling of banking products. The role involves deepening customer relationships, maximizing penetration, and establishing strong relationships with external business partners such as developers, government registration officers, real estate brokers, and mortgage brokers. The incumbent will work closely with product teams to provide feedback on market conditions and strategic campaigns, and with external stakeholders to keep them informed of mortgage product updates. The role requires maintaining compliance with all internal policies and procedures and external regulations, implementing operational risk monitoring, and ensuring the quality of processed applications as per bank guidelines. The Business Development Manager will also be responsible for conducting Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Money Laundering Prevention (MLP), and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) diligently, with zero tolerance on fraud and mis-selling. The role demands strong presentation and networking skills, influencing and persuasion abilities, and a good understanding of the business environment in the UAE, preferably with computer literacy at the user level and the ability to adapt to a multi-cultural environment.

- Meet the business objectives of country WRB through customer-focused, need-based selling of banking products

- Provide assistance during reviews, such as Group Internal Audit, Shariah Reviews, and Regulatory reviews
- Attend assigned training programs to acquire knowledge and apply it to the job function accordingly
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs degree
- Minimum 5 yearsâ experience in Sales
- Proven track record in delivering sales targets
- Ability to work in and coordinate efforts across functions and multiple products

- Experience in handling all Banking & Mortgage Products
- Demonstrated ability in sales planning
