Job description
Long-term care, post-acute rehabilitation and medically complex patients depend on a safe, compliant and highly functional hospital environment, and that is what this Facility Manager role in Manama exists to maintain. You oversee all hospital facilities, utilities and engineering services, including HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, medical gases, generators, fire protection systems, elevators and building infrastructure. Preventive and corrective maintenance programmes get developed and implemented here, keeping critical healthcare infrastructure running without interruption. Facility performance gets tracked through routine inspections and maintenance audits, with outsourced service providers and contractors managed against agreed service level agreements. Construction, renovation, fit-out, refurbishment and expansion projects also fall under this role, coordinated with consultants, architects, engineers, contractors and government authorities from design through commissioning and close-out. Regulatory compliance runs through everything, covering NHRA requirements, Civil Defence regulations, Ministry regulations, occupational health and safety standards and accreditation requirements. Annual facilities and capital expenditure budgets get prepared and managed, alongside long-term asset replacement and lifecycle planning. Facilities, maintenance and technical staff report into this position, and strong working relationships with suppliers, contractors, consultants and regulatory authorities support the wider strategic planning for future facility development.
