Job description
EY’s M&A Strategy & Transactions team helps clients plan for growth through all aspects of their strategy, including inorganic growth. The role involves guiding clients through every stage of the transaction lifecycle — acquisitions, disposals, IPOs, fundraising, buyouts, mergers, and strategic reviews. As a Senior Manager/Manager, you will support clients in assessing strategic fit, synergies, financial modelling, project managing deal cycles, and assisting in negotiations. The role requires leveraging EY’s global network to provide sector-focused advice, particularly within the Technology, Media & Telecom (TMT) sector, and advising C-suite executives and boards on strategic alternatives.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Originate and deliver transaction ideas, identifying opportunities, opening and leveraging relationships.
- Project manage transactions, driving the transaction timetable, ensuring quality on client deliverables, and managing counterparties and advisers.
- Prepare and review client reports and key documentation for fundraising, acquisitions, and disposals.
- Assist in negotiations and conduct financial modelling.
- Understand key business drivers and manage risks through insights, factual conclusions, and advice.
- Actively participate in business development activities, including pitch books and marketing material preparation.
- Lead, develop, and counsel junior colleagues, share knowledge, and contribute to team growth and development.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related specialization from a reputable university.
- 7–8 years of experience in an M&A environment, playing a key role in executing transactions.
- Experience in corporate finance in an investment bank, professional services firm, or boutique.
- Strong numerical, financial, and modelling skills with understanding of financial statements.
- Strong communication, presentation, and project management skills.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality professional documents for clients.
- Flexibility to travel (25%–75%).
- MBA or Master’s degree in Finance (preferred).
- CFA qualification preferred.
- Experience in client-facing transactions within professional services, investment banking, or similar organizations.
- GCC experience or work in mature markets is an advantage.
