Job description
The Senior Data Science Analyst at Qatar Airways leads a team to design and build analytics methodologies, solutions, and products that provide actionable insights for revenue management. The role integrates advanced data science techniquesâincluding machine learning, AI, statistical modelling, operations research, and optimizationâinto the airlineâs commercial context to deliver revenue-enhancing strategies. Responsibilities include operationalizing revenue management goals, improving the time-to-value of data, translating complex data science concepts for business adoption, analyzing traditional and digital data sources such as pricing, inventory, and market share, evaluating IT tools and cloud storage solutions, and continuously improving data pipelines. The position demands collaboration across IT, revenue management, and commercial teams to implement scalable solutions, deliver actionable insights, and support strategic business decisions while fostering a culture of innovation and data-driven decision-making.

Key responsibilities
- Lead a team of analysts to deliver reliable, timely revenue management and commercial data to support business decision-making and revenue optimization.
- Plan and implement strategies to operationalize revenue management goals, applying data, science, and technology to achieve RASK and other key metrics.
- Design and execute analytics work plans, gather, clean, and organize large and complex datasets, and perform exploratory and predictive analyses.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive inventory of internal data sources and analyze interrelations between datasets to identify opportunities for value creation.
- Translate sophisticated data science concepts into actionable business insights and recommendations to support the adoption of data-driven strategies.
- Collaborate with IT stakeholders to implement common analytical tools and cloud/data lake solutions, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and integration.
- Compile, analyze, and present statistical and supporting data to communicate insights and recommend adjustments to business strategies.
- Evaluate and apply modern development tools, coding, and analytics platforms to deliver personalized, data-enabled solutions.
- Identify and resolve data-related challenges while proposing process improvements to optimize revenue and operational performance.
- Work closely with other revenue management team members to uncover hidden insights and deliver strategic recommendations that enhance commercial outcomes.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Mathematics and Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in data science, analytics, or revenue management.
- Expert understanding of statistics, operations research, forecasting, and optimization methods.
- Strong knowledge of airline business processes including Network Planning, Scheduling, E-commerce, Marketing, and Sales.
- Proficiency in programming, machine learning, AI, and analytics tools (Python, R, SQL, cloud solutions).
- Experience leading teams of analysts and managing large-scale data projects.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Ability to translate complex data science concepts into business value and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- High proficiency in English and excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Expert understanding of IT systems, data storage, and processing solutions.
