Job description
The Digital Projects Specialist at Zain Bahrain (PMO Division, Manama) manages the end-to-end lifecycle of digital initiatives across web and mobile platforms, acting as the central liaison between Digital Services & Growth, Digital Development Leads, UX/UI teams, and Technology to translate business needs into actionable requirements and deliver scalable, resilient, user-centric, and future-proof solutions. The role leads full project delivery from initiation to deployment (scoping, resource planning, execution, timelines, success criteria, budgets), tracks progress and dependencies, monitors KPIs, coordinates feedback loops during post-launch stabilization, and may temporarily assume product ownership to monitor usage, collect feedback, prioritize enhancements, and support early improvements. Responsibilities include aligning Figma designs, wireframes, and business-led user journeys with technical execution; structuring functional and non-functional requirements into clear user stories and development specifications; validating with developers and contributing to sprint planning; ensuring design standards and UX expectations are implemented; coordinating hosting environments, APIs, integrations, and security controls; validating infrastructure scalability, performance, and redundancy prior to launch; coordinating UAT/QA and go-live readiness; conducting regular reviews, risk/issue reporting, and resolution planning; maintaining documentation, delivery artifacts, and issue logs; and promoting best practices in digital delivery, agile collaboration, and product lifecycle management to ensure solutions remain scalable, secure, and adaptable. Technical scope spans mobile and eCommerce architectures, cross-platform tools (React Native, Flutter, Angular, Drupal), Agile/Scrum, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), containerized environments (Docker), collaboration/version control (Git, Jira, Confluence), and modern software delivery practices including RESTful APIs and microservices.

Key responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle of digital initiatives from initiation to deployment, including scoping, resource planning, execution, timelines, success criteria, budgets, and delivery.
- Serve as the bridge between Digital Services & Growth, Digital Development Leads, UX/UI, and Technology to align business requirements with technical execution.
- Ensure Figma designs, wireframes, and user journeys are accurately implemented by development teams across web and mobile.
- Collect and structure functional and non-functional requirements, translate business needs into user stories and development specifications, validate with developers, and contribute to sprint planning.
- Guarantee adherence to design standards, UX expectations, and business-led journeys in delivered products.
- Coordinate hosting environments, APIs, integrations, and security controls with Technology; validate infrastructure scalability, performance, and redundancy prior to launch.
- Coordinate UAT and QA testing, manage launch readiness, oversee go-live procedures, and ensure knowledge transfer to Digital Services or the business owner.
- Assume interim product ownership when needed to monitor usage, gather feedback, prioritize enhancements, and support post-launch stabilization until handover.
- Conduct regular project reviews, report on risks/issues, drive resolution plans, and keep business and technical stakeholders informed and engaged.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, delivery artifacts, and issue tracking logs; track progress, manage dependencies, monitor KPIs, and ensure on-time, in-scope, on-budget delivery.
- Promote best practices in digital delivery, agile collaboration, and product lifecycle management; recommend improvements based on analytics, user feedback, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure solutions are designed to be scalable, secure, and adaptable to future business or technical needs.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in application development or digital solution implementation, with at least 2 years of hands-on involvement in digital transformation projects.
- Proven experience with mobile platforms (iOS or Android) and/or eCommerce solutions; ability to align enterprise digital strategy with business architecture.
- Strong background in Design Thinking and stakeholder collaboration; skilled in designing future-state business capabilities, roles, processes, and systems.
- Ability to translate business priorities into actionable roadmaps and drive execution; experienced in facilitating workshops with executives and cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of mobile app and eCommerce architecture, design patterns, and UX principles; familiarity with React Native, Flutter, Angular, and Drupal.
- Working knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and hybrid delivery methodologies and iterative development cycles.
- Good understanding of security best practices, hosting requirements, and infrastructure considerations (scalability, redundancy, performance).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), APIs, containerized environments (Docker), and modern delivery practices (RESTful APIs, microservices).
- Proficiency with project collaboration and version control tools (Git, Jira, Confluence); strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and effective communication to present technical concepts to technical and executive audiences.
