Job description
As a Data Center Operations Director at Microsoft in Dammam, you will be responsible for leading data center operations across a metro region, overseeing service delivery, critical infrastructure, and IT systems. The role requires strategic leadership to ensure availability, compliance, and operational excellence, while managing budgets, vendor relationships, incident responses, and capacity planning. You will serve as a key stakeholder aligning global Microsoft values with regional operational goals.

Key responsibilities
- Empower a culture of safety, security, service availability and compliance in all aspects of data center operations
- Leadership, management, coaching, and development of Microsoft full-time employees across datacenters in the Metro
- Accountable for the ongoing IT and Critical Environment (CE) support for all service lines ensuring the on-time and defect-free delivery of customer capacity within SLA commitments
- Responsible for ensuring the planning and delivery of all supporting physical infrastructure, logistics, and the resources required to meet anticipated growth within the Metro
- Actively participate in incident management procedures relating to major incidents impacting Microsoft cloud services in the Metro
- Lead incident management calls with customers and senior leadership, resolve incidents, conduct post-incident reviews, and implement improvement plans
- Ensure financial management of the metro including development of detailed budgets, forecasts, and management of operational and capital spend
- Manage and oversee all vendor/partner contracts and relationships including landlords, IT and CE service providers, and support teams
- Collaborate with global and regional management teams and contribute to improvement programs
- Lead through change by bringing clarity, generating energy, and delivering success while embodying Microsoft One culture and values
Experience & skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent AND 10+ years experience of mission-critical service management
- 5+ years experience leading and managing diverse teams across multiple disciplines and platforms
- 7+ years experience in Critical Environment infrastructures and physical IT infrastructures
- Experience managing large-scale, complex projects and a budget exceeding $5M
- Applicable certifications such as PMP, CDCP, ITIL, Microsoft Operations Framework, or CompTIA preferred
- Experience managing global or virtual teams and vendors
- Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud background check requirements
