Job description
Mark V, Mark Vi, Mark Vie, Cimplicity and HMIs are the systems this Lead Controls Field Engineer installs, commissions, maintains and troubleshoots for GE Vernova's Controls Services business. Most of the work happens on customer sites with gas and steam turbines, compressors and their auxiliaries, with more than 75% travel, including offshore and restricted countries. On site, you direct controls and instrumentation activities, supervising cable laying, meggering and connections, and organising labour, tools and materials against the contractual scope. Software work means navigating PLC ladder logic, tracing documentation, implementing control constant modifications and editing sequencing. Plant engineering documents and P&IDs are reviewed as part of troubleshooting. Clients, plant owners and construction firms receive daily or weekly progress updates, and customer staff may need training along the way. Holidays, weekends and overtime come with field assignments, and EHS guidelines apply to every task. Candidates need at least 5 years on GEV Mark controls systems and 5 years in Oil & Gas and power plant field work, strong knowledge of UCP, MCC, DCP, DCS and firefighting systems, and fluent English and Arabic. A valid driver's license and passport are also required.
