Job description

As Associate Director - MEP (Commercial), you will lead and mentor an M&E cost management team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality M&E cost management services to clients. Acting as the key day-to-day client interface, you will manage estimating and cost planning activities, produce post-contract cost reports, lead value engineering and life cycle costing exercises, and ensure team accountability. This role requires experience in consultancy, M&E works, and large infrastructure projects, particularly within the aviation sector.

Key responsibilities
- Lead and mentor an M&E cost management team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality M&E cost management services to clients.
- Act as the key, day-to-day client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met through delivery of a value-added cost management service.
- Manage estimating and cost planning activities, including ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
- Ensure the production of monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to the client.
- Lead value engineering and life cycle costing exercises.
- Motivate team members, drive positive client outcomes, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Critically analyze, challenge, and brainstorm project requirements and deliverables to find creative solutions and alternatives on behalf of clients.
- Lead a cost management team, ensuring delivery on all accountabilities.
- Identify and act upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, and products to enhance client service.
Experience & skills
- Degree qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or similar discipline.
- More than 15 years’ work experience.
- Experience from consultancy background, well-versed with mechanical and electrical (M&E) work.
- Experience working on infrastructure projects, particularly in the aviation sector.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in client management with strong business development and advisory skills in value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
