Job description
Salla, a leading provider of information technology and services, is seeking a Quality Engineering Lead to drive quality engineering initiatives and establish a quality-first mindset across the organization in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on educating, mentoring, and supporting engineering teams in adopting effective quality assurance practices, software testing methodologies, and testing strategies aligned with business goals and software development lifecycles. The Quality Engineering Lead will define, implement, and enforce QA standards across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), ensuring product reliability, performance, and usability. Responsibilities include conducting training sessions and workshops on quality assurance tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Postman, and Xray, and mentoring teams in test automation and quality engineering best practices. The role requires proficiency in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices while fostering cross-functional collaboration between development, QA, and operations teams. The Quality Engineering Lead will identify inefficiencies in QA processes, drive continuous improvement initiatives, provide leadership during production incidents and outages, conduct root cause analysis, and define quality metrics and QA KPIs to measure performance. The role also involves staying current with emerging trends in software testing, implementing quality governance frameworks, and ensuring testing strategies align with business objectives and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities
- Conduct training sessions and workshops on quality assurance practices, software testing methodologies, test automation frameworks including Selenium, Playwright, Postman, and Xray, and mentor teams in adopting quality engineering best practices across the organization.
- Lead the definition, implementation, and enforcement of QA standards across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) ensuring alignment with business goals and product requirements.
- Develop and align testing strategies with business objectives to ensure product reliability, performance, usability, and scalability across applications and services.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration between development, QA, and operations teams to build a quality-first culture and integrate quality practices into Agile and DevOps workflows.
- Identify gaps and inefficiencies in QA processes and lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize testing workflows, automation coverage, and release quality.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance during production incidents and outages, ensuring timely resolution, incident management, and root cause analysis.
- Define, collect, and report on key quality metrics and QA KPIs using reporting tools to track performance and drive data-driven quality improvements.
- Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and tools in software testing, test automation, Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines to continuously enhance quality engineering capabilities.
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Software Testing, or Quality Engineering roles within software development environments.
- Possess strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and quality assurance methodologies.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience with QA tools and test automation frameworks including Selenium, Playwright, Postman, and Xray.
- Show proficiency in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes and tools supporting automated testing and deployment pipelines.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices within cross-functional software engineering environments.
- Possess experience defining and tracking QA KPIs and quality metrics using reporting tools to measure testing effectiveness and product quality.
- Demonstrate experience mentoring teams, conducting training sessions, and promoting quality engineering best practices across multiple teams.
- Show experience managing production incidents, performing root cause analysis, and driving continuous improvement initiatives in quality engineering.
