Job description
IEC 62443, NIST, and ISO/IEC 2700x frameworks set the standard this Senior Field Service Engineer, OT Cyber Security role works to, supporting customer sites across ABB's Process Automation Energy Industries division in Qatar. Cyber Security Service activities and Cyber Security Project implementation both fall within this role, covering onshore and offshore customer sites in equal measure. You will deliver technical support to customers by helping them apply cybersecurity solutions that strengthen the security and resilience of their operational technology environments. Cybersecurity solutions get executed and implemented directly, contributing to timely, cost effective project delivery through coordination and technical expertise. Training and ongoing support run across the full solution lifecycle, from onboarding through post-deployment, to keep adoption and long-term satisfaction on track. Sales and technical teams get worked with closely to understand customer requirements and show how cybersecurity offerings solve specific operational challenges. Cyber Secure OT System Architectures need designing, and Cyber Security Design Review Workshops need running directly with customers. Travel comes with the territory here, reaching up to 80 percent onshore or offshore depending on project needs.

- Deliver technical support to customers by helping them apply cybersecurity solutions that enhance the security and resilience of their OT environments
- Execute and support implementation of cybersecurity solutions, contributing to timely and cost-effective project delivery
- Provide training and ongoing support to customers throughout the solution lifecycle, from onboarding to post-deployment
- Collaborate with Sales and technical teams to understand customer requirements and demonstrate how cybersecurity offerings address operational challenges
- Design Cyber Secure OT System Architectures
- Conduct Cyber Security Design Review Workshops with customers
- Manage cybersecurity risk assessments, access control, incident response, and vulnerability management activities
Experience & skills
- Hold a bachelor's or higher degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electronic/Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field
- Bring 10+ years of total experience, including 5+ years in cybersecurity within industrial automation or OT environments, plus extensive current or previous ABB experience, a must-have
- Carry strong knowledge and experience in either 800xA or Symphony Plus, a must-have, with ScadaVantage and related controllers such as AC800 M, AC800 M HI, or Infi-90 highly preferred
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of cybersecurity solutions and security controls including system hardening, network hardening, WSUS, Trellix ENS, Solid Core, network monitoring, Syslog, Acronis, NGFW and OT firewalls, network switches, and SIEM
- Show a strong understanding of ICS/SCADA systems, network protocols such as Modbus, OPC, MMS, IEC, and DNP3, and industrial communication standards
- Apply knowledge of OT security best practices and cybersecurity frameworks such as IEC 62443, NIST, and ISO/IEC 2700x
- Present cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, GICSP, or ISA/IEC 62443 Expert
- Own and complete assigned work independently, single-handedly
- Maintain a strong focus on safe work practices and workplace safety guidelines
- Travel up to 80 percent onshore or offshore depending on project requirements
