Job description
Guests at a landmark luxury destination in Riyadh will judge it as much by its outdoor spaces as by its buildings, and this Buro Happold position leads the design management of those spaces. External works and public realm packages are taken from concept through detailed design and into construction support. Consultants, public realm designers and specialist subconsultants work under your management. Submissions are reviewed for quality, coordination, feasibility and compliance with project objectives. Integration matters, since irrigation, lighting, utilities and sitewide infrastructure all have to sit comfortably with the architecture and structures. Design reviews, material discussions and technical coordination workshops are led from here. Operators and the client have clear views on maintenance and operational needs, and those shape the design as much as appearance does. Value engineering is expected, though premium quality and user experience must hold. Significant experience managing external works design on high-end hospitality, residential, mixed-use or destination projects is essential, with Middle East experience strongly preferred.
