- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards and best practices in inquiry-based learning
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including English Language Learners and gifted and talented students
- Foster a positive and respectful classroom culture that promotes collaboration, curiosity, and student wellbeing

Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed) or a subject-related degree in Mathematics, combined with a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, PGDE, a state teaching license, or an equivalent credential, since the school requires formally qualified teachers rather than subject knowledge alone
- Bring proven experience teaching High School Math, ideally gained within an American or IB curriculum context, though this specific curriculum background is preferred rather than essential, meaning candidates with strong general secondary Math teaching experience are still encouraged to apply
- Demonstrate the ability to inspire, motivate, and support students through engaging, purposeful learning, reflecting the school's emphasis on inquiry-based teaching rather than a purely traditional, lecture-style approach
- Show strong interpersonal and communication skills, since the role involves close collaboration with colleagues on unit planning and curriculum development as well as regular interaction with students and likely parents
- Bring a collaborative and reflective approach to teaching practice, given the role's expectation that teachers will work together to plan cohesive units and contribute to ongoing curriculum development rather than working in isolation
- Demonstrate genuine commitment to ongoing professional development, consistent with the school's stated value of lifelong learning as one of its GEMS Core Values
- Show a willingness and ability to contribute positively to the school's wider culture, including active participation in co-curricular and community programmes beyond the classroom
- Demonstrate the differentiation skills needed to support a diverse student population, including English Language Learners and students identified as gifted and talented, since the role explicitly requires meeting these varied learner needs
- Show comfort using technology and innovative teaching approaches, given the school's expectation that teachers will use these tools to enhance the learning experience
- Demonstrate a track record of using varied and authentic assessment methods, along with the ability to provide timely and constructive feedback to students as part of ongoing progress monitoring
