Job description
The Junior Engineer - Facilities Management supports the IFS team in overseeing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) operations across multiple sites or large facilities in Dubai. This role involves coordinating with supervisors, team leaders, and technicians to ensure smooth service delivery and adherence to technical standards. The Junior Engineer assists in managing day-to-day MEP tasks, tracking work orders through CAFM and CMMS systems, and supporting small-scale projects, maintenance shutdowns, and system upgrades. The position requires collaboration with vendors and OEMs, compliance with UAE regulatory bodies such as DEWA, Municipality, and Civil Defense, and participation in safety and quality control processes. Responsibilities include reviewing maintenance procedures, monitoring performance indicators, reporting issues, supporting procurement and budget tracking, and contributing to technical reports and asset condition assessments. The role emphasizes continuous learning, safety adherence, and developing coordination and leadership skills in facilities management environments. The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of LV electrical systems, HVAC (chilled water and DX), plumbing, and is comfortable working within multidisciplinary technical teams to maintain operational excellence and compliance.

Key responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily MEP operations and provide support to technicians across electrical, mechanical, and plumbing disciplines
- Review and track work orders through CAFM systems ensuring timely completion and data accuracy
- Identify and assist in resolving recurring maintenance and operational issues
- Coordinate with vendors and OEMs during maintenance, commissioning, and shutdown activities
- Ensure adherence to established MEP procedures and technical standards
- Support in executing small-scale projects and system upgrades across managed facilities
- Monitor key performance indicators and escalate concerns to senior engineers or FM management
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure operational continuity
- Participate in improvement initiatives and learn about new engineering technologies and tools
- Assist in managing service providers and verifying that maintenance tasks are executed per contractual agreements
- Help prepare technical and commercial proposals for additional works and coordinate procurement activities
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards from DEWA, Municipality, and Civil Defense authorities
- Review safety documentation and maintenance procedures under the guidance of senior staff
- Apply troubleshooting techniques learned from senior engineers to resolve on-site issues
- Track progress of assigned tasks and maintain updated completion status logs
- Assist in preparing technical reports, asset condition summaries, and performance evaluations
- Maintain and manage inventory of tools, materials, and consumables to support maintenance activities
- Support budget monitoring and assist the engineering team in planning resource allocation and expenditures
Experience & skills
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering
- 2–3 years of experience in facilities management within the UAE or GCC region
- Understanding of LV electrical systems, HVAC (chilled water and DX), and plumbing systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals
- Experience or training in CAFM or CMMS software for managing work orders
- Knowledge of safety standards, QHSE procedures, and emergency response protocols
- Familiarity with DEWA, Municipality, and Civil Defense compliance requirements
- Basic understanding of vendor management, procurement, and inventory control
- Strong coordination and communication skills with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Multilingual ability in Arabic, English, Hindi, or Urdu preferred
