Job description
Retail lending decisions at this bank often hinge on whether a customer's employer sits on the Approved List of Companies. You review and apply the bank's approval policy and criteria to new employer listing proposals, deciding whether a company qualifies and on what terms. Existing listings need attention too, and you assess upgrades, downgrades and general maintenance as employer circumstances change. Verification sits at the center of the job, with site visits and checks carried out on employers putting forward new proposals and on companies already listed when the situation calls for it. The Approved List itself has to stay current, so additions, removals and modifications get handled as they arise. Market and industry shifts are tracked closely, since anything affecting employers on the list has a direct bearing on the retail portfolio sourced through them. Employer queries reach this desk from several directions at once, including the Retail Credit Committee, branch teams and other business channels, and each one needs a clear, timely response. Precision matters throughout, given that listing decisions feed directly into credit risk exposure across the retail book.
