Job description
The Client Relationship & Business Development Consultant – Career & Rewards at Mercer Qatar will support growth in Career Consulting, Rewards, and Compensation services. This client-facing role focuses on business development, relationship management, and positioning Mercer’s solutions in the market. The consultant will build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, support client meetings, proposals, presentations, and follow-ups, and act as a trusted advisor by aligning client needs with Mercer’s Career and Rewards solutions. The role also involves collaborating with consulting teams to support delivery, identify market opportunities, contribute to revenue growth, and maintain awareness of trends in compensation, rewards, and talent practices. The position requires professional representation of Mercer with senior clients and engagement in strategic people advisory work.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients in Qatar
- Support business development activities including client meetings, proposals, presentations, and follow-ups
- Act as a trusted relationship manager, understanding client needs and aligning them with Mercer’s Career and Rewards solutions
- Represent Mercer in a professional and culturally appropriate manner at client meetings and external engagements
- Collaborate with consulting teams to support delivery and ensure a high-quality client experience
- Identify market opportunities and contribute to revenue growth within the Career and Rewards consulting portfolio
- Maintain awareness of market trends in compensation, rewards, and talent practices
Experience & skills
- Fluent in both Arabic and English (spoken and written)
- Strong personal presence and professional presentation skills
- Proven experience in business development, client relationship management, consulting, or professional services
- Familiarity with or strong interest in compensation, rewards, career frameworks, or HR consulting
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management abilities
- Comfortable engaging with senior client stakeholders
- Commercially minded, proactive, and relationship-oriented
- Bachelor’s degree required; relevant postgraduate qualifications are an advantage
