A morning workshop on whether to lift-and-shift a core banking platform or re-architect it on AWS, followed by a hands-on proof of concept on Amazon Bedrock for a retail customer, is a fairly normal day in this role. AWS is hiring a Senior Solutions Architect for its Commercial Sector Enterprise team in the UAE, covering large organisations in Financial Services, Retail, Travel & Hospitality and Media. These customers run complex technology estates under demanding regulatory and operational requirements. Owning the technical relationship end to end, you assess on-premises or multi-cloud estates and architect a credible path to AWS. The technical case often rests on total cost of ownership analyses, migration strategies and proof-of-value engagements. Much of the work is hands-on, from prototypes and migration runbooks to landing zone blueprints and production-ready reference architectures. Generative AI and machine learning are frequently where AWS wins, so moving those workloads from proof of concept to production is a big part of the job. Account Managers and Business Development rely on you for technical credibility, while AWS service teams hear from you about the features customers need. Workshops, immersion days, blog posts, code samples and talks at meetups and conferences extend your reach, and mentoring fellow Solutions Architects is expected. Candidates bring 10+ years across technology domains and in designing, implementing or consulting on applications and infrastructure, plus experience architecting cloud solutions for enterprise customers.
