Job description
The Supply Chain Finance Consultant role requires very advanced programming (SQL, PL/SQL, Java) and DevOps expertise to implement, configure, and support Core Trade Supply Chain Finance (SCF) systems, specifically on Ethix Core Banking, for a banking/financial services environment—preferably Islamic banking. The consultant must possess deep knowledge of Trade Finance, core banking Trade/SCF product workflows and lifecycles, and finances including RFR and profit calculation, alongside very advanced Crystal Reports development. Responsibilities include defining detailed accounting and posting rules for all Trade and SCF products and instruments; leading SIT and UAT with full stakeholder management; conducting requirements definition and analysis, facilitating workshops, and producing comprehensive documentation; and coordinating effectively with IT specialists such as IT security and network infrastructure teams. The role demands hands-on experience in implementation, configuration, and support of Core Trade SCF systems with a proven track record, and experience working within banks or financial services companies (preferably Islamic) covering products such as Murabaha, Istisna, LME, Wakala, and Ijara. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, project management experience, excellent communication/presentation/consultancy skills, and the ability to work under pressure with results orientation are essential. A good degree in Computer Science or equivalent with a minimum of 18 years of relevant working experience is required, alongside demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and end-to-end delivery within Core Banking Ethix environments.

Key responsibilities
- Implement and configure Core Trade SCF solutions on Ethix Core Banking across full product lifecycles.
- Define and validate accounting and posting rules for Trade and SCF products and instruments in alignment with finance and RFR/profit calculations.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL, PL/SQL, and Java components, and automate build/deploy pipelines via DevOps practices.
- Design and deliver Crystal Reports for Trade/SCF operational and regulatory needs.
- Lead SIT and UAT cycles, plan test scenarios, manage defects, and coordinate stakeholder sign-offs.
- Facilitate requirements definition and analysis workshops; produce functional/technical specifications and end-user documentation.
- Coordinate with IT security and network infrastructure teams to ensure secure, performant, and compliant deployments.
- Provide production support for Core Trade SCF, including incident resolution, root cause analysis, and performance tuning.
- Advise on Trade Finance and Islamic banking product workflows (Murabaha, Istisna, LME, Wakala, Ijara) and ensure system alignment.
- Manage project plans, risks, issues, and communications to deliver on scope, schedule, and quality.
Experience & skills
- Good degree in Computer Science or equivalent, with minimum 18 years of relevant experience.
- Very advanced programming in SQL and PL/SQL; very advanced Java development; very advanced DevOps practices.
- Deep knowledge of Trade Finance and Core Banking Ethix, with proven implementation, configuration, and support of Core Trade SCF systems.
- Experience defining accounting and posting rules for Trade/SCF products and instruments, including RFR and profit calculation.
- Strong experience with Crystal Reports for Trade/SCF use cases.
- Understanding of Core Banking Trade/SCF product workflows and lifecycles and Islamic banking products (Murabaha, Istisna, LME, Wakala, Ijara).
- Hands-on experience leading SIT and UAT and managing stakeholders across business and technology.
- Experience in requirement definition, analysis, workshop facilitation, and documentation with excellent communication and consultancy skills.
- Project management experience with results orientation and the ability to work under pressure.
- Experience in a bank or financial services company, preferably Islamic banking.
