Job description
Chinese industrial champions are building factories, localising supply chains and acquiring companies across the Middle East and Africa, and Siemens Digital Industries wants to follow that expansion closely. DI S GED (Global Export Development) is the new team set up to do it, and this Dubai-based senior business developer acts as its orchestration point for MEA. Investment, project, localisation and EPC signals linked to priority Chinese customers are detected and qualified into DI opportunity hypotheses. Relevant MEA Country and account teams, China GJOs, Verticals and Technology Units are then mobilised around each customer's expansion. Commercial ownership stays with the established Country organisation, so influence comes from connecting people rather than formal authority. Siemens also stays neutral among EPCs, OEMs and other partners, and local signals unrelated to priority Chinese customers are outside the mandate. Successful patterns are captured and replicated across countries, and GED data, qualification and digital capabilities are built up along the way. Strong experience in industrial business development, EPC or project development, or key-account development is expected, ideally with China-related or cross-border investment exposure. Fluent English is required, and Arabic or Mandarin Chinese is a strong advantage.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Identify industrial investments, project developments, localisation moves, EPC participation and partner changes linked to priority Chinese industrial customers in MEA
- Detect destination-market signals such as investment timing, project structures, end-customer decisions and EPC/OEM involvement
- Translate early or ambiguous project intelligence into qualified DI opportunity hypotheses
- Mobilise MEA Country and account teams, China GJOs and GED nodes, Verticals and Technology Units around priority customers
- Create transparency on customer intent, project structures, decision networks, partner relationships and next-best actions
- Preserve Siemens neutrality among partners and respect existing customer, project and opportunity ownership
- Support commercial teams in converting qualified signals into pipeline, lighthouse pursuits and measurable DI impact
- Capture successful customer and project patterns and replicate them across countries
- Contribute to GED data, qualification, orchestration, learning and digital capabilities
Experience & skills
- Bring strong experience in industrial business development, sales, EPC/project development, key-account development or strategy in complex B2B environments
- Understand Middle East industrial and project markets, with wider Africa exposure an advantage
- Offer experience with EPCs, infrastructure, energy/resources, industrial manufacturing or large investment projects
- Possess China-related business, Chinese industrial customer/EPC or cross-border industrial investment experience (strong advantage)
- Orchestrate across countries, functions and organisational levels without formal authority
- Apply strong commercial judgment to turn strategic signals into concrete pursuit actions and measurable impact
- Communicate fluently in written and spoken English, with Arabic and/or Mandarin Chinese a strong advantage
