Job description
Ernst & Young (EY) is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant for a 12-month contract in Dubai. The role focuses on financial statement preparation, audit coordination, and bookkeeping services for a diverse client portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to ensure accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient month-end processes. This opportunity is ideal for a finance professional with a solid foundation in accounting principles and experience in professional services environments. The role requires strong technical acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements and coordinate with auditors to ensure smooth and timely audit processes
- Perform bookkeeping activities, including journal entries, invoice processing, payment management, and revenue recognition
- Conduct bank and account reconciliations and review financial records for accuracy and compliance
- Monitor and manage the submission of financial statements to various regulatory authorities within established deadlines
- Support month-end closing and reporting processes in line with internal policies and external accounting standards
- Ensure all financial activities align with EY’s quality and compliance standards
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and streamline reporting workflows
- Provide insights and recommendations to enhance accounting accuracy and process efficiency
- Maintain organized financial documentation for audit and reporting purposes
- Demonstrate adaptability and professionalism while managing multiple client assignments
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from a recognized university
- Professional certification preferred (CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 3–4 years of experience in accounting, audit, or financial reporting within a professional services environment
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including accruals, deferrals, and prepayments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing client relationships at all levels
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy and quality
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet tight deadlines
- Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel across the UAE for client engagements
