Job description
The Senior Planning Engineer role at AtkinsRéalis in Abu Dhabi focuses on overseeing project scheduling, programme control, and progress monitoring for large-scale Roads and Infrastructure projects. The position plays a central role in reviewing and analyzing contractor baseline programmes, updates, and revisions to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and alignment with approved baselines. Responsibilities include monitoring project progress against schedules, identifying delays and trends, and reporting deviations with recommended mitigation measures. The role requires conducting independent delay analysis, Time Impact Analysis (TIA), and Extension of Time (EOT) assessments. The engineer prepares and maintains internal supervision monitoring tools such as look-ahead schedules, dashboards, and critical path trackers, and participates in coordination meetings to present schedule updates, performance metrics, and recovery plans. The role involves coordinating with discipline engineers to gather timely inputs on progress, constraints, and resource allocation, supporting Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting, and participating in project gateway reviews in line with Ashghal’s PMDS framework. Site validation of physical progress and correlation with contractor programme submissions is required, along with development and maintenance of reporting formats aligned with Ashghal’s key performance indicators. The Senior Planning Engineer also assists the Resident Engineer and Client in contractual correspondence related to programme obligations. The role requires extensive experience in planning and controls for infrastructure and roads projects, advanced expertise in Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel, Power BI, CPM scheduling, delay analysis, and familiarity with PMDS frameworks and reporting standards.
