Job description
The Legal Support Secretary (LSS) provides high-level secretarial and administrative support to Partners and Associates in the Abu Dhabi office of Clifford Chance, with a primary focus on supporting the Office Managing Partner (OMP). The role involves delivering seamless operational, client-facing, and practice support services, ensuring that lawyers are fully supported in their fee-earning and client relationship activities. The position requires advanced technical skills, organizational expertise, and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple practice areas including Corporate, Financial Markets, Litigation, and Real Estate. The LSS acts as a bridge between fee earners, clients, and internal support teams while ensuring compliance, efficiency, and high-quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities
- Manage diaries, schedule meetings, and act as key contact point for Partners and Associates.
- Arrange complex travel itineraries, visa applications, and transport bookings.
- Oversee time entry, amendments, and timely submission of expense reports.
- Support client-facing activities including correspondence, presentations, and CRM updates.
- Assist with onboarding of new fee earners, including orientation and process familiarization.
- Handle compliance processes such as conflict checks, engagement letters, and matter set-up.
- Organize client and matter team meetings, document archiving, and project administration.
- Prepare, edit, format, and proofread documents in compliance with firm style guidelines.
- Assist in creating bundles, bibles, and liaise with London’s Document Production Unit when required.
- Support business development by preparing and amending PowerPoint presentations and updating CVs.
- Coordinate live pitch updates, deal tracking, and reporting won/lost pitches to BD and Finance teams.
- Maintain accurate client and matter financial records, assist with billing, invoicing, and narratives.
- Provide reception cover or team cover during absences and collaborate with other LSS colleagues.
Experience & skills
- Minimum typing speed: 60+ wpm
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Prior experience in a professional services or legal environment
- A-Level or equivalent educational standard
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong self-management, organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong client focus and ability to build positive relationships
