Job description
The Security Engineer role at Fuse Energy supports the security posture of a rapidly scaling, fully integrated renewable energy company operating across solar, wind, hydrogen, real-time power trading, and distributed energy installations. Fuse Energy is building a radically improved energy system using first-principles thinking and advanced technology, backed by significant venture funding from global investors. As part of a mission to deliver a terawatt of renewable energy at speed, the Security Engineer works closely with senior security and engineering stakeholders to help protect cloud infrastructure, web applications, internal platforms, and sensitive data. The role contributes to securing a decentralized Energy Network of smart devices that reward consumers for electrification and grid-balancing behaviors. This position focuses on implementing and maintaining security controls across AWS-based environments, supporting secure service configurations including access controls, secrets management, and API security, and strengthening identity, authentication, and transaction-related workflows. The Security Engineer participates in threat modelling and security reviews, assists in identifying and remediating vulnerabilities and misconfigurations common to modern cloud and web environments, and supports security operations through monitoring, incident detection, investigation, documentation, and remediation activities. The role also contributes to secure development practices through security-focused code reviews, documentation of secure coding and secrets handling guidelines, and compliance-readiness initiatives such as evidence gathering and control validation. Working in a hybrid setup across Dubai and London, the Security Engineer collaborates daily with product and engineering teams while continuously developing expertise in cloud security, application security, and infrastructure security within a fast-paced, product-driven environment with real-world energy system impact.
