Job description
The Compliance Specialist at Foodics ensures company-wide adherence to SAMA regulatory requirements, supporting compliance monitoring, policy implementation, regulatory reporting, and internal awareness. The role involves monitoring compliance with SAMA rules, circulars, AML/CTF Rulebook, Payment Service Provider regulations, and Consumer Protection Principles. The specialist drafts, updates, and maintains compliance-related policies and procedures aligned with CP Principles and acquirer regulatory frameworks. Responsibilities include conducting compliance tests across onboarding, customer disputes, settlements, merchant operations, chargebacks, and complaints handling, identifying control weaknesses, preparing regulatory submissions, maintaining inspection-ready documentation, providing compliance training, and collaborating with Legal, AML, Anti-Fraud, Operations, Product, and Risk teams on remediation plans. The position requires strong knowledge of SAMA regulations, CP Principles, and the acquirer ecosystem, with a focus on regulatory adherence and operational risk management in a fintech environment.

Key responsibilities
- Monitor compliance with SAMA rules, circulars, AML/CTF Rulebook, Payment Service Provider regulations, and Consumer Protection Principles
- Support regulatory gap assessments and execute annual compliance plans
- Draft, update, and maintain compliance-related policies and processes aligned with CP Principles and acquirer frameworks
- Conduct compliance monitoring tests across onboarding, customer disputes, settlements, merchant operations, chargebacks, and complaints handling
- Identify control weaknesses and report findings to Compliance Manager
- Assist in preparing regulatory submissions including SAMA dashboards, compliance returns, and queries
- Maintain records of regulatory correspondence and inspection readiness documentation
- Provide compliance training sessions to departments including KYC, merchant onboarding, and customer care
- Collaborate with Legal, AML, Anti-Fraud, Operations, Product, and Risk teams on compliance matters and remediation plans
Experience & skills
- Bachelorβs degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field, demonstrating foundational knowledge in regulatory frameworks, legal principles, and financial operations relevant to fintech and payment systems.
- 1β3 years of professional experience in compliance, preferably within fintech, payment services, or related financial technology industries, with practical exposure to regulatory adherence and operational risk management.
- Strong understanding of SAMA regulations, Payment Service Provider rules, AML/CTF frameworks, and Consumer Protection Principles, with the ability to apply these standards consistently across company processes and policies.
- Experience in developing, reviewing, and maintaining compliance policies, procedures, and operational documentation, ensuring that all processes adhere to regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Proven ability to conduct regulatory monitoring, compliance testing, internal audits, and gap assessments, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation measures to senior management.
- Experience preparing regulatory reports, dashboards, and submissions, with meticulous attention to detail and an ability to maintain inspection-ready records for auditors and regulators.
- Capability to design and deliver compliance training programs and awareness sessions to employees across multiple departments, promoting a strong culture of compliance and regulatory understanding.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills, enabling effective interaction with Legal, AML, Anti-Fraud, Operations, Product, and Risk teams to resolve compliance issues, implement remediation actions, and maintain regulatory alignment.
