Job description
Reporting to the Head of Technology Audit, this AVP in Group Internal Audit at the DSO office in Dubai plans and runs risk-based IT audits from start to finish. Each audit has to land within its man-day budget, from planning and fieldwork artefacts to the final report. Coverage reaches across IT and cybersecurity controls, resilience and continuity, and emerging technologies the bank has adopted, such as blockchain and AI. First- and Second-Line risk management over these areas also needs your assessment and comment. Judgement matters, weighing material gaps against the maturity of the control environment while keeping auditee relationships constructive. Beyond planned audits, regulator-mandated reviews can arrive at short notice. Audit Universe design, evidence review for action plan closure, and GIA transformation initiatives involving new workflow tools, AI and data analytics round out the role. Expect to bring 10 to 12 years in audit or information security within banking, ideally with UAE or GCC banks, plus a certification such as CISA, CISSP, CRISC, CIA, CCSP, AAIA or ISO 42001.

- Evaluate First- and Second-Line risk management over IT, cybersecurity, resilience and emerging technology controls
- Assess the completeness of entities, systems and data in the IT Audit Universe for the assigned portfolio
- Review evidence submitted for the closure of audit action plans
- Lead GIA transformation initiatives, including new workflow tooling, teach-in sessions and AI or data analytics testing approaches
- Brief the Head of Technology Audit on material outcomes, upcoming challenges and forward plans
- Balance planned audits with unplanned, regulator-mandated reviews
- Engage divisions across the bank to identify areas facing technology risk
- Recommend improvements to audit and operational activities
- Collaborate with departmental Heads and VPs to drive continuous improvement
- Monitor macro-economic, technology and regulatory developments and reprioritize audit coverage as needed
