Job description
Leads and grows a portfolio of government, sovereign, and public-sector clients within FABās Investment Banking division, driving revenue growth, relationship returns, and portfolio credit quality. Provides strategic direction, oversees deal origination and execution, manages P&L performance, and ensures adherence to regulatory, compliance, and internal governance standards. Acts as a senior relationship lead, developing cross-sell opportunities and guiding a team to deliver high-quality client coverage and transactional execution.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategy and business plans for government and sovereign client coverage
- Originate and close new business opportunities across investment banking products
- Lead preparation of term sheets, information memoranda, financial models, and deal documentation
- Oversee credit, market, and operational risk aspects of transactions
- Drive cross-selling and increase wallet share across key clients
- Maintain strong portfolio credit quality and ensure timely credit reviews
- Supervise team members and support talent development initiatives
- Ensure full adherence to KYC, AML, and compliance requirements
- Monitor financial performance, budgets, and account plans
- Maintain client files, documentation, and audit-ready records
- Collaborate with product teams and stakeholders to maximize business opportunities
- Provide MIS reviews and performance analysis to senior management
Experience & skills
- UAE National (mandatory due to strategic workforce policy)
- 10+ years of investment banking experience
- Bachelorās degree in Finance or related; Masterās/MBA preferred
- Strong understanding of banking products, sovereign and government sector dynamics
- Experience in deal origination, structuring, and execution
- Ability to manage complex client portfolios and drive revenue growth
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership capabilities
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to shifting priorities
- Deep knowledge of compliance, KYC/AML, and risk management frameworks
